SIM x OTR Wellbeing Champion Festival
Synopsis
Mental health is a clear and urgent issue in today's society — it is a major epidemic.
>50% youths (globally) were adversely impacted by the pandemic
1 in 3 young people in Singapore exhibit symptoms of mental health issues;
Nearly 60% of youths in a Talking Point survey considered themselves lonely, despite living in an age of digital super-connectivity
27% of youths in Singapore harbour suicidal thoughts with more and more young people are engaging in self harm
In this festival, there will be a fireside chat by a panel of experts to explore these critical topics around 'The State of Youth Mental Health – Where do we go from here' and brainstorm potential antidotes through the lens of healthy self-esteem, flourishing & emotional health.
After the fireside, audience can attend a chosen applied psychology workshop by 1 of the 3 speakers!
The workshops are:
1. Resilient Self-Esteem by Dr. Thomas Saltsman
2. Psychology of Flourishing by Nick Jarvis Tan
3. Emotional Fitness by Dr. Camellia Wong
*Workshops are held concurrently, participants are to choose only one to attend.
